Dorcas Crumbley is a third generation Lakeland native and business leader, operator, and community influencer known for building and scaling service-based enterprises while driving measurable impact across both the private and nonprofit sectors.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communications from Florida Southern College and dual master’s degrees in Management Leadership and Human Resources Management from Webster University. Her academic foundation is complemented by extensive real-world experience leading organizations through growth, operational transformation, and strategic repositioning.
Dorcas is the founder of multiple ventures, including Black Swan Venue and Essential Catering Solutions, where she has successfully developed high-performing business models centered around operational efficiency, community engagement, and revenue generation. Her work is rooted in execution—building systems, strengthening teams, and turning underperforming or undeveloped ideas into sustainable, income-producing operations.
Her professional background spans healthcare, government, nonprofit leadership, and entrepreneurship, where she has led large-scale initiatives, coordinated emergency response operations, and advised organizations on strategy, staffing, and performance optimization. She is widely recognized for her ability to quickly assess challenges, implement practical solutions, and drive results in fast-moving environments.
In addition to her business leadership, Dorcas is deeply engaged in the Lakeland community. She currently serves on multiple boards and advisory councils, including Lakeland Volunteers in Medicine, Alliance for Independence, Lighthouse Ministries, the Florida Children’s Museum DEI Advisory Council, and the City of Lakeland’s Affordable Housing Advisory Council. Her work reflects a long-standing commitment to economic development, community advancement, and mentorship.
Dorcas continues to pursue opportunities to contribute at a higher level within organizations focused on growth, operational excellence, and long-term impact.
